New Empie

So it has been a long time since we have written. About a year but we would like to introduce our newest little baby. Mason Wenlock Empie born May 8, 2011 at 12:57am he was determined to be born on Mothers Day. Mason is a mellow fellow who liked to look around and he likes his brother and sister. He waited for dad to be done with his finals and mom had things all squared away with her projects. It was a long labor starting at 3am on Saturday. I went and had a pedicure, attended a Kentucky Derby party, walk the mall and Wade was able to go to the movies. All while the contractions were only 30 minutes apart. Lets just say it was a long day of contractions and when we finally made it to the hospital we slept between contractions and when they told us it was time to push we both were to tired to push but thankfully two pushes was all that was needed to get baby Mason out. Sunny side delivery is terrible that is when the baby comes out facing up instead of down. We are glad to have him and wanted to share with everyone.

Running, Cakes and Kids

So this last couple of weeks have been a busy with a lot of fun and hectic things. So on June 5, 2010 I ran my 4th half marathon in South Bend Indiana, fighting Irish territory. It was a beautiful place and really friendly. I wouldn't mind living there. The fun things about Indiana are they have a cafe just for CHOCOLATE come on how many of those are there, they have very, VERY, VERY humid weather and in the Notre Dame Stadium they have a picture of Christ doing the touch down sign (that is a little odd). The run was good but very muggy they let us run by the river but again adding to the humidity. I was so wet and sweaty we had to put a drop cloth down in the van so I wouldn't soak the seats. Even though it was so hot it is the fastest I have ever run a half marathon it took me 2:04 which breaks down to a 9:30 pace which is my personal best. I saw a guy who was running his 100th marathon which I thought was cool we tried to calculate how old I would be but I was to tired thinking about all of that mileage right after the race so we stopped. Wade and I went because the gal that I was training with was injured. I highly recommend a weekend get away to anyone, it was a lot of fun.

Other exciting things I have been up to is making cakes so have been successful other not so much. I made cupcakes for a friends Girl Scout Troop and the theme was Hawaiian so I made edible shells. They turned out great.

Next I thought I would make some cupcakes for a friend for her birthday. It was suppose to look like ants taking food from a picnic I will let you decide. They called for chocolate covered raisins to make the body. I think they look like cupcakes with three raisins down the middle. Felicity thought they were just fine she crawled up on the table to get one while I wasn't looking. The last cake is a cake for a friend who is becoming an American citizen this one turned out great.

My kids are great and they keep me on my toes. We went strawberry picking and they each had a pails to put their strawberries in. It turned out I would fill their pails while they ate them it was hard to try and fill it before all of the berries were gone. They both came home with strawberry juice down there front and big smiles on their faces.

What's New!!

So what's new with us. We are all staying busy. Wade has headed back to school and he is enjoying it I think. He knows the information but I think he enjoys being back in the school scene but he might tell you differently. Nathan is loving playing baseball and has been working hard to earn his a bike. Last Monday Nathan and Wade built the bike and he has been growing more confident each day. Felicity is loving sitting on the couch and reading. She is a climber if you see the highest slide on the playground she will be there climbing it. She love to be big and just like her brother. I am working on house projects.
I have been painting and working on getting our front porch more usable. I also dyed my hair red. I the one thing that the Judd's and I have in common are the red hair. All I can say is that I have done red once and that is enough for me. I am also running a half marathon this weekend in Southbend Indiana. I am nervous but I have put in my time so it should be fun.

Beginings

What you might and might not know about our family. Wade and I met in Michigan of all places because I am from Utah and he well he is a self proclaimed Gypsy. We met at Institute I was not looking but I was trying my skills at flirting and starting my collection of boyfriends but after I met Wade there was little more to say about a collection of boyfriends he is better than a million boyfriends. We both agree that our first date was out of the ordinary. We went to the loudest restaurant where we couldn't hear each other even talk and parking was something of a disaster. The concert that we had planed on attending was so full their were no seat the best you could get was out in the hall hoping to be able to hear something. We decided to forgo the concert and headed out for ice cream. That date was the most memorable date for me and the rest is history.

Here we are married for almost five years. We have two beautiful children and the adventures never seem to end.
